B E R E A V E M E N T  S E R V I C E  FAQ's

What can I expect from bereavement support?
This support provides an opportunity to talk through things that have affected you since the bereavement. A member of our team can meet you in your own home or at Sobell House.

Group support is also available where experiences are shared with others in a similar situation.

Who will I see?
The team includes trained volunteers and professional staff. All have completed a comprehensive training programme that includes learning about bereavement and loss and the affect it can have.

How long will support be available?
The length of time that you receive support will depend on how you feel. Some people are seen regularly throughout the first year following their bereavement, so that they have support during this particularly difficult time.

How does the Bereavement Service work?
Support is available to those who live in Oxfordshire. We are part of the NHS and are supported by Charitable Funds. Referrals are received through Sobell House, the Community Nursing Team and the Palliative Care Support Team.
