The Senior Clinical Lecturer in Palliative Medicine (Dr Bee Wee), based at Sir Michael Sobell House, is a joint appointment between Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and Oxford University. She provides academic leadership for palliative care education and research at Sir Michael Sobell House.

Medical Students
All clinical medical students undertake a compulsory week-long attachment in palliative medicine during Year 5. In addition, some students may undertake special study modules in palliative care during Years 4 or 6. For further information see www.weblearn.ox.ac.uk

Postgraduate Medical Training

Higher Specialist Training

The post of specialist registrar in palliative medicine in the Oxford Deanery is designed to provide a comprehensive training programme in palliative medicine over a four-year period. The aim of training is to equip a registrar with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a consultant in palliative medicine in specialist in-patient units; community based teams and / or hospital support teams. The curriculum in palliative medicine will provide the structure for training.

Registrars appointed to the training programme in the Oxford Deanery rotate posts on an annual basis. The programme in the Oxford Deanery has 7 units accredited for training in Oxfordshire, Buckingham and Berkshire. There are 5 full time training slots available at present, one slot is shared between two doctors training in a part time capacity. A further registrar is training flexibly.
