As costs
continue to rise and the emphasis on voluntary funding for hospices
increases, it is essential that we look towards ensuring the future
funding for Sobell House.
One way to know that you will be helping Sobell House in the future is by
leaving a legacy gift. It enables future generations to unlock the 'time
capsule' that is your Will and helps Sobell House to continue offering its
vital service to the community.
Leaving a legacy to the Sobell House Hospice Charity helps to ensure the
work of the hospice will continue both within the hospice itself and in
the broader community of Oxfordshire.
If you would like to make a bequest to the charity, you can do so in a number
of ways. The most common types of legacy are:
Residuary bequest
A gift of the remainder of the estate after all other bequests have been
made and debts cleared.
Pecuniary bequest
A gift of a fixed sum of money. The value of will decrease over time, as
the cost of living increases.
Specific bequest
A particular named item or property left as a gift in your will - for example,
a piece of jewellery.
Contingent bequest
A gift that depends on an event which may or may not happen, for example
a bequest that applies only if other beneficiaries die before the person
who made the will.
