Boot-sale Why not clear that garage or attic by having a stall at a boot sale with the proceeds to Sobell House?

Company Giving ask your employer to support your efforts or better yet get them to match whatever you can raise.

Don’t feel embarrassed about asking, if somebody doesn’t want to support they don’t have to but if you don’t ask you’ll never know.

Email everyone you know to let them know what you’re doing and how they can get involved. Also add your event as a signature on your email template.

LOTTERY Join the Sobell Lottery. For just £1 a week you could be in with the chance of winning the weekly £1,000 jackpot

Masquerade Ball organise a ball for all your friends and colleagues with the costs of tickets to go to charity.

Never Give Up sometimes fundraising can take a long time to get to your targets but persevere and you will get there eventually

Organise an event within an event for example a raffle or collection at your works Christmas do.

Pay as You Earn (PAYE) is an easy way to make a regular donation to the charity of your choice via your works payroll. The donation will come out before tax and save you a few pence too.

Quiz Night – organise one in your local pub/club half the proceeds to go to the winners and half to the charity of your choice (Sobell House obviously)

Raffle get a local company to donate the prizes and raffle it amongst your friends or social groups

Shave your head/beard/moustache or even your legs and get sponsored for the honour (you might even let your highest sponsor make the first snip (only for the very bravest that one)

Treks. The 3 peaks challenge, the Ridgeway, the Shakespeare Way trek, or even one further afield like Cuba or Peru.

Uniform or non-uniform days at work or schools.

Volunteer in the charity office or one of our shops, whatever skills you have we’ll make use of them.

Websites with the use of Facebook, Blogs, Flickr and Myspace, advertising your event has never been simpler and more effective for keeping in touch with your supporters.

X-ercise (yes I know) why not organise a sponsored gym event eg: spin class or aerobics session?

Y fundraise? Sobell House costs £3 million a year to run, much of which is raised by people just like you. Without your help we simply could not exist.

Z

Zest and zeal essential if you are going to make the most of your efforts, if you’re enthusiastic and energetic everyone around you will be too.
Your efforts will make a real difference to people’s lives and you should be proud of your achievements.
